District Subsitute Health Aide RN
Description
- Ensure implementation of health care plan(s) and provide direct nursing support
- Assist students that have physical/medical needs including but not limited to trach care, cough assistance, and suctioning; catheterization/assistance with bathrooming, etc.
- Work in conjunction with District Nursing staff and building staff to maintain appropriate documentation
- Supervise students involved in classroom and non-classroom activities
- Implement/follow teacher instructions of classroom activities and procedures.
- Consistently reinforces philosophy of classroom management
- Demonstrate an understanding of students’ strengths and needs and respects confidentiality.
- Work with individual and/or small groups of students in the academic setting under teacher direction.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- Certification/licensure in nursing
- Experience with respiration care including tracheostomy care
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies or staff members.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and ledgers.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
